Interview

1. What are the foundations of your research (Art Identity)?
Light, Sign and Space.
2. Who are the artists who have guided you in your research?
Nature is the guideline of my proceeding, from the very beginning. Looking at the history of art, my interest and the affinities found were mainly the traces and the "instinctive sign" of the rock reliefs up to moving on to the painting of Caravaggio for the study of the centrality of the light that modulates the form. Divisionist painting, Segantini and Previati. Futurist painting, Balla's studies on light and Dorazio's subsequent studies on the sign-chromatic sedimentation. Alberto Giacometti, above all a painter and draftsman. Sign values in the works of Hans Hartung and Emilio Scanavino. Enrico Castellani, for the dynamics of light and shadow, Carmengloria Morales, for the sedimentation and stratification of the planes, Nicola Carrino and Robert Morris, for the relationship between space and sculpture.
3. Define yourself as a human being using three adjectives.
Pure, coherent, extremely sensitive.
4. According to your vision, where is contemporary art going and where would you like it to go?
Contemporary art is going far from my concept of "Art". For me "the work of art is the artist", the artist's act of creation is existence and the I and the harmonic research on matter are a single thing, which is realized through the Uniqueness and lyricism. Art should allow you to identify yourself, to then enter the depths of things, capture their essence and transform it through the Uniqueness of the Individual, identify yourself in the material by activating new harmonic relationships between three artistic values that I consider primary: Light, Sign , Space, which are the same components that concern all the great Art of the past.
