Interview

1. What are the foundations of your research (Art Identity)?
Loss of the space-time dimension, perceptive ambiguity, luminescence and darkness. The visible and the invisible…
2. Who are the artists who have guided you in your research?
If I had to retrace my training among the many I would say: Masaccio, Beato Angelico, Piero della Francesca, Turner, Sironi, Morandi, Ben Nicholson, Gino De Dominicis, Then I was lucky enough to know: Nunzio, Perilli, Cotani, Alviani, Castellani , Bonalumi, Pinelli, Verna, and others. But reflection with philosophy will always remain the fundamental part of my work on the visible and the invisible.
3. Define yourself as a human being using three adjectives.
3 adjectives: I have only two, hypersensitive and indefinite.
4. According to your vision, where is contemporary art going and where would you like it to go?
Where is he going? It is sad to say, but it will be enough to follow the logic of the art system…Where would I like it to go? Needless to say... where am I going... (o.n.d.r. laughter) I want to close with Beckett: "the worst in front until it makes you laugh" Greetings, Paolo Radi.

TWO WORDS ABOUT HIS WORKS

In Paolo Radi's works, we perceive a minimal language centered on the analysis of the Perspex surface, which thanks to his intervention comes to extend forcefully and to reveal the light itself that is hidden under the apparent layer.  The two-dimensional becomes three-dimensional and sometimes the shapes seem to appear from the void, from nothing, blurred by time and a hidden depth.  We find a safe, resistant and at times liquid plasticity of the material, which extends into space.
Paolo Radi, in 2002 was invited to carry out his work at the Sculpture Space Foundation in Utica, New York.
