Interview

What are the foundations of your research?
For me, art is essentially the way I can fully express myself. But, and this I believe it is a thought that many share, art is something I cannot do without because it is one source of inspiration that also unconsciously emerges and accompanies me in my research. For this, if we want to express ourselves with a concise sentence, art is what really enriches you.
Who are the artists who have guided you in your research?
t is not easy to answer this question because the ideas that one receives from the most varied artists there are so many. Obviously being neither a portrait painter, nor a reporter nor a naturalist it is not to authors of these genres that I was inspired even if a photographer like Ansel Adams, for give an example, personally it is congenial to me. If I have to mention two names that are important to me, I mention Irving Penn for his still lifes and Gabriele Basilico for the rigor with which he interprets urban reality. As far as painting is concerned, I obviously feel close to the world of Giorgio Morandi and his still lifes, to that of Carlo Carrà with his suspended atmospheres, to that of Renato Guttuso for the intense colors and the richness of elements that intertwine in his canvases.
Define yourself as a human being
As a human being I feel accomplished, because I managed to reconcile my artistic activity with that of wife and mother of three children. It helped that I'm a very curious person. The artist's eye on the world is always tuned to a new frequency that often it would escape the public if it were not made visible thanks to a work of art. This look lateral allows the artist, in an uninterrupted dialogue with his viewers, to show the world from another point of view, different from the common one, which in turn enriches those who observe and experience it to understand it.
According to your vision, where is contemporary art going and where would you like it to go?
Art is constantly evolving and so are the tools that can be used. I wish more and more that contemporary art was full of content, that the form was at the service of thought and that art was moving towards an ever greater depth because only in this way it can play a role and affect society. Otherwise, if it is to become a decoration, the posters of some well-known brands will suffice furniture….. In my work Naturally Plastic I tried to talk about issues related to the environment, in Blue Effect I question the role of spirituality in today's society, in Living as metal ho photographed scrap metal waiting to be recovered. I would like not only visual art, but poetry, cinema and literature to be more and more focused on the pressing issues that we have to face as human beings, not least the ecological one and serious social conflicts which instead of decreasing are increasing more and more all over the world.

Two words about her works

Romana Zambon's career as a photographer from Milan began with some participation in charity auctions
by adoption, architect and lover of photography.
“I have always been attracted by the power of color that I associate with various moods” says Romana and continues
explaining that "this element, together with the harmony of the shapes, catches my attention and transforms it into a shot,
in an instant, in photography”.
